Shocking/Not So Shocking, NBA Trade Edition

Published by geekstarist at 5:39 pm under sports Edit This

The NBA Trade Deadline has passed, with several teams making moves and now the question is did your team make the right one? Some of the deals that were made are not as big as you think but there are some names out there who can make a big difference.

So here we are, the unofficial start of the second half of the NBA season and teams have now made trades to improve their rosters for the Playoff push. Now we begin the Shocking/Not So Shocking NBA Trade Deadline Edition with our typical Shocking/Not So Shocking rules.

Shocking: The NBA is accustomed to having huge trade deadline block-buster deal, this year was a bit of a let down as there was no major Superstars traded today.

A Second Shocking: With Shaquille O’Neal, Amare Stoudemire, and Vince Carter all on the trading block, not one major Superstar was even close to be traded.

Not So Shocking: When PG Jameer Nelson needed season-ending surgery, it was an easy guess that the Orlando Magic would try and trade for a Point Guard.

Shocking: The Magic acquired PG Rafer Alston in a three team trade with Memphis, and the Rockets that helps with the loss of Nelson.

Not So Shocking: The Cleveland Cavaliers are still trying to improve their team and be a larger contender in the NBA and Eastern Conference.

Shocking: The Cavaliers were reportedly in talks to acquire Shaquille O’Neal from the Phoenix Suns when the deal fell through. Can you imagine Shaq and LeBron James on the same team!

Shocking: The trade that would send New Orleans Hornets C Tyson Chandler to the Oklahoma City Thunder was rescinded after Chandler could not pass his physical with the Thunders Doctors.

A Second Shocking: How does that work out for both teams who have to send players back to their original teams and play the rest of the season.
