What Happened to Houston?
After starting the season ranked high on plenty of season previews, including the Sportsblogger NBA Preview ranking of fourth in the NBA, we are all wondering what happened to the Houston Rockets? With a 31-21 record on the season, saying they are disappointing is an understatement at least.
The addition of Ron Artest was thought to give the Rockets their own version of the “big three’ with Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. It seemed like the Rockets would be the team that could give the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs a run for their money.
If you could have predicted how bad this team looks I would have dedicated a whole story to your intelligence and go to you for all of my NBA information. That is how bad the Rockets are, and not to mention the team has a lot of in-fighting between its players.
McGrady, as usual, has missed some games this season due to injury, Yao has too, but it is McGrady’s scoring that has fallen this year. Last night was just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to this teams lack of effort on the court when they were blown out by the injured Milwaukee Bucks.
With no Andrew Bogut or Michael Redd, the Bucks dominated the Rockets who chose not to show up for the game and lost by a final score of 124-112. What is going on there is truly a mystery that can only be solved by the players who need to realize how bad their play looks.
Maybe a trade will shake up the team. Just a guess, I think it is time for the team to part ways with McGrady after years of a one and done playoff trips. Another option is play inspired basketball, have some heart, and play to your full potential.
