AFC/NFC Championship Game Preview

Published by geekstarist at 2:35 pm under sports Edit This

Lately, I have tried to steer clear of predicting the NFL Playoffs after my last attempt failed with my record standing at 1-3 in the Wild-Card games. It was a bit of a failure, but clearly I was not the only person that did not believe the Arizona Cardinals would turn things around so quickly.

With that, I would like to have an AFC and NFC Championship game preview where I will not attempt to predict a winner. Instead, there will only be an edge given to one team and, I must repeat, there will not be anymore predictions this season from me.

                 NFC Championship Game

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles were among many teams not expected to be here at mid-season and that is not an understatement. They made it here on their constantly attacking defense and the ability of Donovan McNabb to move in and out of the pocket.

Arizona Cardinals: If you could have told me at the beginning of the season that the Cardinals would host the NFC Championship game, I would have called you a joke. The Cardinals are no joke, and a stingy run defense and the great play of WR Larry Fitzgerald have brought them to the teams first ever NFC Championship game.

The Edge: Arizona Cardinals

                 AFC Championship Game

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens are the typical Ravens that we all have known for some years now, they play great defense and force turnovers. They have a new element to their game and that is QB Joe Flacco who is the first Rookie QB to ever win two Playoff games.

Pittsburgh Steelers: If the Ravens are the typical Ravens, then the Steelers are the typical Steelers with the Number one defense in the NFL. It will be hard for the Ravens to pick apart this defense, and it will be even harder to stop WR Hines Ward and QB Ben Roethlisberger.

The Edge: Baltimore Ravens
