   Back by popular demand, despite the fact I had no intention to do so, is now a second part to the Sportsblogger Most Un-Intimidating. The world of sports is still currently involved in the Plaxico Burres situation, so now I proudly present the Most Intimidating Nicknames is sports.

     The Sporstsblogger Most Intimidating Nicknames

1.) Pittsburgh Steelers- Just the name alone reminds me of a team of bandits out to take your team to the floor and beat them up. Not to mention the Black helmets with only one logo, and the whole “Blitz-Burgh” nickname, which easily makes ”Steelers” the best name in the NFL.

2.) New York Yankees- When you hear “Yankees”, it makes me think of the Evil Empire and all of the intimidation that comes with it. The Yankees are always competitive, and hardly ever have a down-season. The “Pin-Stripes” are pretty intimidating as well, which make the Yankees number 2.

3.) Los Angeles Lakers- Think really hard about it, a team that is willing to keep the name “Lakers” without there being many large scale lakes in the greater Los Angeles area! Also when you hear the name you think Championships, The greatest Centers from Wilt to Kareem To Shaq. Boston fans eat your heart out because the Lakers have been great for a consistant amount of time, unlike the Rick Pitino days.

4.) Colorado Avalanche- Personally, I do not want to encounter an Avalanche or the team either, mostly Patrick Roy. Avalanche is easily the coolest name in the NHL that can also intimidate, sorry New York Islanders. Colorado Rockies is also a great intimidating name as well.

5.) USC Trojans- When the Trojans come to your town, you are very likely to want to see them. Their history of National Championships and Heisman Trophy winners is arguably the greatest in College football. If the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were still relevant, They would easily be on the same level as USC.
