   Instead of writing about Plaxico Burress’ legal troubles today, as so many people are currently doing, I chose to stay away from the topic. So here is a fun look at the Most Un-Intimidating sports nicknames, this is my top 5 in the world of sports. Feel free to make any suggestions

      Sportsbloggers Most Un-Intimidating Team Nicknames

1.) Miami Dolphins- When anyone thinks Dolphins they think of those silly animals that jump in and out of the water so playfully. Its safe to say not many people are intimidated by that happy looking Dolphin on the helmet who is actually also wearing a little helmet. Cool, but not intimidating.

2.) Los Angeles Angels- You can also include the New Orleans Saints in this topic of teams taking a religous title that really is not needed. I get the fact that Los Angeles’ nickname is the City of Angels, but when you play in Anaheim, shouldn’t you be known as the “Mickey’s” or “Ducks”? Thats right we already have the Anaheim Ducks! Not very cool.

3.) Utah Jazz- Like the Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers, the Jazz were transplanted from another City which has more meaning for the nick-name. Jazz music just makes people want to relax, not very intimidating. I do have a suggestion, how about the Utah Heavy Metal? Or maybe not.

4.) Pittsburgh Penguins- In a city like Pittsburgh, Pa. which already has the really intimidating Steelers and a once intimidating Pirates, where on earth do you decide on Penguins? I know they are one of the Historical teams in the NHL, but come on! A penguin is just as bad as a dolphin no matter how you dress it up! Cool, but not intimidating.

5.) Detroit Lions- Ok, a lion is pretty intimidating, but when you haven’t won a game in 12 attempts, you have failed to intimidate. Not to mention this franchise has never intimidated anyone, unless it was it was the any potential free-agents, then maybe I am wrong about them being very intimidating.
