Jets Get Their Brett

Published by geekstarist at 4:26 pm under sports Edit This

Finally, the Brett Favre and Green Bay Packers saga is over and it couldn’t come a day sooner. Favre, one of the greatest QB’s ever will likely finish his career with the New York Jets.

It looked as though Favre would be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, he was traded last night a little after 9 p.m. and is now a Jet. If the media frenzy was bad in Green Bay, can you imagine when he shows up for his first practice as a New York Jet?

Thankfully this story will finally be put to rest, starting tomorrow coverage for Favre would have trickled to a stop because of the Olympics. Favre must be a little disappointed that he will not get the chance to stick it to the Packers and play for the Minnesota Vikings or Chicago Bears and stay in the NFC North Division.

Instead, Favre gets to travel east to play in the New England dominated AFC East division where the Jets were 4-12 last season. Don’t think that Favre is just going to disappear in the New Jersey haze, think of the fact that Bill Belichick will now gameplan against the great Brett Favre.

Not good enough? Ok what about a Tom Brady and Favre duel in the freezing cold weather of Foxborro Mass.; or Favre traveling to Miami and torching the Dolphins in Dan Marino’s old home turf. This has and will re-invigorate the division and the New York Jets who have become back page material since the Giants won the Superbowl.

Will the Jets get to the Superbowl, probably not, but who knows, most certainly didn’t think Favre would get the Packers to the NFC Championship last year and he did that. What is known for sure is that Favre is going to give it his all to take the Jets as far as he can.

Plus it is good that Favre will still be wearing green on Sundays, I could have never imagined him wearing those awful Tampa Bay uniforms. The Packers will have to hope that Aaron Rodgers is worth the public image hit they took.

My guess, Rodgers struggles, Favre gets the Jets to winning season.
